Same race format for 2024 as we used last year.
The Triathlon (1.75m Trail Run/.40m Lake Swim/1.75m Trail Run/12m Road Bike/3m Trail Run)
The Duathlon (3.5m Trail Run/12m Road Bike/3m Trail Run).
**Same great trail runs as the original Survival race just a little different order of stages. Nice lake swim and a not so flat road bike course, just not the double bike leg which I know some of you loved and some of you not so much! **

YES there will be BEER at the finish line!
It pays to plan ahead... Make sure to sign up before Race Day.

Triathlon
The Tri starts with a 1.75 mile trail run to the lake at Citta Boyscout Reservation. The first mile is main trail then you drop off into a challenging and technical creek path and then to the lake before entering the water for a .4 mile swim. You will enter and exit the swim at same spot. There will be a small transition area set-up at lake. Pending water temp. you may have a support bag placed at lake (ie. wetsuits). If water is not cold you will need to carry swim gear to lake with you (ie. Goggles) There will be water stations on run course by the lake transition. After swim, you run 1.75 miles back to transition through more trails and some foot bridges. You mount your bike. The bike course is two roads (wells mill road and Brookville) with just three u-turns but not very flat with lots of small rolling hills. Once back into transition, put on the running gear and head out on one more 3 mile run on MainTrail and the east section of Penn Hills trail. First half mile is open then you enter some single trail winding trails past briar patches and swamps and back to the finish line.
Duathlon
The Du is on the same course as mentioned in the Tri except when you get to the lake you don't swim you just cross the timing mat and head back to transition for the bike leg.
